Welcome to the Young and Healthy Skin website.  We hope you will find helpful information about the advanced skin treatments and products we offer.  The site is designed to educate you about skin care and answer frequently asked questions about our services and charges.  We are dedicated to providing you with the most advanced skin care available at fair and affordable prices. 

Additional information will be available when you come to our center for a skin evaluation.

Young and Healthy Skin is staffed with only trained estheticians.  Estheticians undergo at least 1,400 hours of training specifically in skin care (not hair and nails).  After the bookwork and practical training they are required to take both a written and a practical examination that is overseen by the Alabama Board of Cosmetology.

We at Young and Healthy Skin work under the direction of our medical director, Dr. Gordon M. Telepun, MD, a plastic surgeon who is certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery.  His office, Decatur Plastic Surgery, is located next door to our center.  Together we provide Decatur with the only medical complex dedicated to aesthetic facial skin care.  Because we have a medical director who is a plastic surgeon we can offer techniques and treatments that are medical in strength and effectiveness and therefore not available in spas and salons.  These techniques and treatments include intense pulsed light therapy, blue light acne therapy and chemical peels.

In addition, all of the skin care products that we sell are physician strength products.  These products have the highest concentrations of the most effective ingredients available on the market.  We are continually trained by representatives of the companies that manufacture these products and have access to contact these representatives for additional questions or concerns when we are evaluating a skin care program for our clients.  This close working relationship with these high quality companies allows us to maximize the benefit you will get from being on a home skin regime with one of our product lines.  You will be pleasantly surprised that high quality physician strength products are as affordable as over-the-counter products sold at the mall.   Click Here To Learn About Our New PCA Chemical Peels!!

Young and Healthy Skin is conveniently located in the medical district in Decatur, one block south of the Admissions Center of Decatur General Hospital.  The center is just off of the corner of 8th Avenue and Somerville Road.  Parking is located directly in front of the building.  Click the "Office Directions" button to the left to get more detailed directions and maps.

The center hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

We prefer that you have an appointment  for visits requiring treatments and evaluation.   A comprehensive skin care evaluation and discussion of our product lines takes some time, so a scheduled appointment is much preferred if we are to spend an appropriate amount of time with you. 

However, walk-in visits for brief treatments can sometimes be accommodated.
